RESEARCH AT THE HEMU

The aim of research at the HEMU is to establish productive bonds between teaching, performance and creation, with a purpose of mutual improvement.

Research projects are led by instrument and theory teachers, as well as the members of the Ra&D team who often work in partnership with other institutions such as universities, foundations, audio-visual media services or orchestras.

The projects’ results are published in various forms: articles, books, music scores or CDs, concerts, radio shows, presentations in symposiums or congresses, Internet websites. These publications are not only intended for researchers, but also for musicians, performers, instrument teachers and a larger audience of interested non-professionals.

The HEMU’s students take introductory classes in research. By means of their Bachelor’s and Master’s projects, they contribute to the vibrancy of research at the HEMU.
