HEMU Vocalists
The Vocalistes de l’HEMU (HEMU Vocalists) is a high-calibre chamber choir comprising Bachelor's and Master's students. Thanks to its flexible configuration, the choir can perform a wide range of repertoire, from a cappella polyphony to large-scale works with orchestra.
The HEMU Vocalists come together for specific projects under the direction of guest conductors, aiming to perform works usually reserved for professional choirs. The ensemble's variable size, ranging from twelve to around forty singers, allows it to perform a wide variety of pieces. As well as performing a cappella pieces and works with piano accompaniment, the ensemble regularly performs with the HEMU Orchestra and other instrumental ensembles from the HEMU. Concert seasons organised by partner institutions, such as the Festival International de Musique Sacrée Fribourg (FIMS), the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (OCL) and the Lausanne Opera, offer the HEMU Vocalists singers the opportunity to perform on stage in professional conditions.
