Admission Exam Programmes

The programmes must indicate the exact duration of each piece (in minutes and seconds). The total programme duration will be automatically calculated in the portal.

You can consult the repertories on the programme pages and in the"Prerequisites and Bachelor/Master Repertoires" tabs below.

Courses are taught in French, and a minimum level of proficiency is required.

According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the recommended level is B2.

A good command of French is essential for passing certain exams successfully.

In addition to demonstrating instrumental skills, applicants to the Bachelor’s programme must also demonstrate solid theoretical knowledge. All candidates who pass the instrumental or vocal audition must take a theory test.

This will be held remotely and a personalised invitation will be sent by email.

For on-site exams, a confirmation of registration will be sent no later than 15 days before the test. This will indicate the date, location and time of the test.

Please refer to the conditions in the “Prerequisites for Bachelor's / Master's Applications” section below.

The jury decides on admission and assigns one of the following outcomes: “admitted,” “eligible,” or “not eligible.” A “not eligible” result indicates that the required level to join HEMU has not been reached.

Results are communicated by email the day after the exams.

Admitted candidates must confirm their enrollment by 31 May at the latest. They will receive a letter detailing the registration procedures during the summer.

Candidates must hold a certificate granting access to higher education or an equivalent qualification to be eligible. There is no age limit.

Exceptions to these requirements may be granted to exceptional cases to candidates demonstrating outstanding talent.
