A Canadian with Italian origins, a saxophonist with exceptional qualities, greatly appreciated soloist in the jazz scene, a highly esteemed professional at international levels and an extraordinary teacher, Robert Bonisolo studied music at Berklee College of Music and The Banff School of Fine Arts. In 1987, he won the “Canadian Rising Star Award” and the “American Rising Star Award”.

Upon arriving in Italy in 1990, he began studying classical saxophone.
He obtained his five-year classical “diploma” from the Conservatory of Ferrara.
Another aspect that sets him apart is his ability to pass on his knowledge and experience, through his personal approach to teaching music at the many schools and clinics he works with. Since 2003, he has been a Professor of saxophone and improvisation at the school Centro Didattico Musicale Teatro Danza di Rovereto (TN) - Italy.
Since 2006, he has also been a Professor of saxophone and improvisation at the HEMU – Haute École de Musique and the International Saxophone Festival in Faenza, Ravenna, Italy.
