Registration for the admission exams must be completed no later than March 1st at 11:59 PM (UTC+01:00) each year.

If necessary, additional places may be offered after this date.

Use the username you chose when creating your account, along with your personal password.

The admission exam fee, associated with the exams evaluated by the jury, is non-refundable.

The fee of 80 CHF must be paid before registering on the Admissions Portal.
In the “Payment Reference / Comment” field, please indicate the candidate’s first name, last name, and program of study.

Courses are taught in French, and a minimum B2 level is required.
> Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Some exams require a strong command of French.

German-speaking candidates admitted to the Master’s program in Music Education with an instrumental or vocal specialization at HEMU – Fribourg-Freiburg may, upon a motivated request, take the pedagogical module at the Bern University of Applied Sciences / Bern University of the Arts.

Deutschsprachige Bewerberinnen und Bewerber, die zum Masterstudiengang Musikpädagogik mit der Ausrichtung Instrumental oder Vokal am Standort der HEMU – Fribourg-Freiburg zugelassen sind, können auf begründeten Antrag das pädagogische Modul an der Berner Fachhoschule / Hochschule der Künste Bern absolvieren.

For Bachelor’s admission, the following diplomas are recognized as equivalent to the Swiss Maturity Certificate:

  • Baccalauréat
  • Zeugnis der allgemeinen Hochschulreife (Abitur)
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE)
  • Kotogakko
  • etc.

In addition to instrumental skills, Bachelor candidates must demonstrate solid theoretical knowledge. All candidates who pass the instrumental or vocal exam are required to take a theoretical test.

-    The test will be conducted remotely.

-    A personalized invitation will be sent by email.

Transcripts and academic records issued in French, English, German, Italian, or Spanish are accepted.
However, a translation into French or English is required for documents in other languages.

Financial aid may be granted starting from the third semester of studies at HEMU.
During the first year, only exceptional aid can cover a portion of the tuition fees.
