Musical Ensembles

From the first year of study, the HEMU offers a wide range of ensemble activities that enable students to gain experience of collective practice and lead to regular public performances. These ensembles, which range from chamber music to large orchestral ensembles, perform with renowned musicians on prestigious stages. They form part of a complete training programme that also includes improvisation and physical training.

With over 600 concerts and public performances each year, masterclasses led by renowned artists, and partnerships and collaborations with leading institutions, the HEMU places ensemble work and practical experience on stage at the heart of its training programme.
